Product Overview

When the NT52C series pressure (liquid level) transmitter operates with a capacitive pressure core, the isolation diaphragms and filling fluid on the high and low pressure sides transmit the process pressure to the filling fluid, which then transmits the pressure to the sensing diaphragm at the center of the sensor. The sensing diaphragm is a tensioned elastic element whose displacement varies with the applied pressure (for gauge pressure transmitters, atmospheric pressure is applied to the low-pressure side of the sensing diaphragm).

The absolute pressure transmitter maintains a reference pressure on the low pressure side at all times. The maximum displacement of the sensing diaphragm is 0.1 millimeters, and the displacement is proportional to the pressure. The position of the sensing membrane is detected by the capacitive plates on both sides. The difference in capacitance between the sensing membrane and the capacitor plate is converted into the corresponding current or digital HART output signal.
